• AHA ACLS, AHA BLS required
• NIH Stroke Certification required for certain units
• LA Fire Card required within 30 days of starting
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit-specific needs

  • 2 year recent exp in specialty
  • AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, NIH
  • Float to less or like specialties where needed and qualified
  • EPIC experience required
  • LA Fire card (must get within 30 days of starting)
  • Orientation Details: There are no orientations for this position, please make sure candidates are comfortable working
  • Charting system: Epic
  • 3-month separation
  • Candidate is responsible for completing up to 10 hours of Providence and specialty specific modules, independently before candidate will be cleared to work

    • Sheath Removal
    • IV insulin protocols
    • GI surgery
    • Chronic/Acute Renal failure
    • Accessing Ports
    • Arterial line management
    • Blood Product Administration
    • Central line care/management
    • PICC line management
    • Starting IVs
    • Continuous IV sedation
    • Procedural Sedation Administration
    • Titrate Cardiac drips
    • Titrate Vasoactive drips
    • CVA/Acute Stroke management
    • External ventricular drains (EVD)
    • Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun
    • ICP monitoring
    • Post Neurosurgery management
    • Assist with management of BiPAP
    • Assist with management of CPAP
    • Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal
    • Care of Ventilated Patient
    • High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
    • Interpretation of ABGs
    • Suctioning (ETT, NT)
    • Ventilator Management

    • Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE
    • Phlebotomy
    • Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac
    • Units include: MICU, SICU, Cardiac and Nuero
      • Schedule Information
      • 12-hour shifts
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Experience in Surgical Intensive Care Unit required
        • Must be able to manage various units including MICU, SICU, Cardiac and Nuero
