  Unit: Tele (9E, 6E, 6W) and MedSurg (8E/W, 7E/W)
  there is a possibility of floating to ED to take care of inpatient MedSurg or Tele patients in the ED.
  # Beds: Tele (33, 31, 32), MS (33, 33, 21, pending 8E)
  Nurse: Patient Ratios Tele 4:1, MedSurg 5:1
  Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  Common diagnosis / Types of patients ESRD, CVA, MI, CHF, Resp failure, ETOH Liver Cirrhosis, Pancreatitis, Elective surgery(Orthopedics, Podiatry, Gynecology, General surgery), Trauma, Cellulitis, DKA, sepsis
  Experience or 'Must have' skills: Vent Experience (preferred but not required) , BiPAP experience, HF
  Are RN's required to titrate drips: Yes, see below
  Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardizem, amio, dopamine/dobutamine, heparin, octreotride, argatroban (currently monitoring does not meet tele criteria)
  Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Yes, central monitoring on telemetry unit
  Are RN's required to read their own strips? Yes, Q4h
  What brand are the tele monitors? GE Apex Pro
  Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Yes Does the charge nurse take an assignment? No
  Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios Yes, 1:18 budgeted
  RT/Equipment (i.e., Cpap, Bipap, High Flow, vents, etc.) All of the above
  Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) No block scheduling guaranteed. They are able Self schedule but operational needs permitting
  Weekend Requirements Every other weekend per CBA (Sat, Sun)
  Holiday Requirements Holiday requirements is 2 (Thanksgiving, Xmas and NY) must work the holiday and an Eve
