Job Description:
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to
support the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations at
Asterid. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a
safe and sanitary work environment, preparing meals in accordance
with corporate programs and guidelines, and ensuring high-quality
food items are creatively prepared and presented in a
cost-effective manner.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in ensuring compliance with
sanitation, ServSafe, safety, production, and merchandising
requirements
- Motivate, train, and develop back-of-house employees to achieve
operational objectives and satisfy customers, clients, and
sectors
- Ensure the preparation and presentation of high-quality food
items in a cost-effective manner
- Assist in planning, ordering, inventory, and food
preparation
- Support cost control and expenditure management
- Implement new culinary programs in collaboration with the
marketing and culinary teamsRequirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts, Food Services
Technology/Management, or a related field, or an Associate of
Occupational Studies (AOS) Degree in Culinary Arts with specialized
training
- 3-5 years of relevant culinary experience
- Mastery of various kitchen positions and stations
- Ability to think on their feet and create, produce, and serve
food quickly
- Knowledge of food cost and its relation to a kitchen, product
identification, and quality
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication
skills
- Applied food service sanitation certification, SERVSAFE, and/or
HACCP federal guideline certification
- Demonstrated understanding of current culinary market trends
