Job SummaryWe are seeking a talented Meat Department Team Leader to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for supporting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects.Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Development: Lead and develop Team Members, fostering a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
• Store Operations: Assist the Team Leader in analyzing sales, reports, and labor, and develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising.
• Customer Service: Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, and direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
• Team Management: Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
• Performance Evaluation: Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations, and consistently communicate and model WFM vision and goals.Requirements
  • 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of meat products and advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
  • Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.Working ConditionsMust be able to lift 50 pounds, and work in a wet and cold environment.
